Wednesday Update

Quinn is doing well, but his breathing was pretty fast today. He is working very hard, so they are having to keep his oxygen and air pressure up. He was taken off the light therapy for the jaundice, which makes him very happy. He is just like his dad, he doesn't like light when he sleeps. He is still very sensitive to sounds and light, so visits are limited. I got to hold him for a while today, but his breathing was really fast so most of the time we had him in his incubator to keep him calm. I was there for his noon feeding and got to give breastfeeding a try. He did really good, but could only go for about 5 minutes before getting too tired. I fed part of his milk with a bottle and then they gave the rest through his feeding tube. After lunch he took a long nap and I headed home for a nap myself. Joe and I are going to go up again this evening. We are hoping in the next day or two the boys can visit their baby brother. They are both anxious to meet him. The doctor is estimating another week in the hospital. His lungs still aren't opening up, but he is stable. The doctor is hoping in the next day or two the lungs will finally "pop open" and he will start to make big strides towards getting off the IV, oxygen, and pressurized air.

Please keep praying for his lungs to get stronger. We can't wait for him to come home.
