5 weeks old!

It is hard to believe that Quinn is already 5 1/2 weeks old! Time has gone by so quickly. Next week I head back to work, but we have been blessed enough that I am only working part-time for two weeks before I have to get back into full time. It will make the transition easier for me and Quinn (and probably our sitter too!)

This weekend Quinn's Godmother finally got to visit and cuddle Quinn. Her family has been sick since he came home from the hospital.

This morning I was able to go to William's school for a "green eggs & ham" breakfast in honor of Dr. Seuss' burthday. It was a lot of fun and Will enjoyed showing off his baby brother. He is definitely proud to be a big brother!

Quinn's first road trip!

We spent almost a week with Joe's sister and family. They live in Pullman, which is about 6 hours away. We thought the trip would take us a lot longer with little Quinn, but he was a great traveler. We only had to make one extra stop on our trip over and no extra stops on the way back. We usually stop twice during the trip and that seemed to work great for little Quinn.

He is growing fast. The jammies he was wearing at the beginning of the week were getting snug by the time we left Pullman. It is good to see he is doing so well after his bumpy start. Today I took him in to get pictures taken at JC Penney. They turned out really cute. I can't wait to pick them up in two weeks.

I talked to my work today and it looks like the first week of March is when I am going back to work. I put in a request to work 3 days a week for the first two weeks, so hopefully that gets approved. It will be a lot easier to ease into working again. Sabrina (the lady who will be taking care of Quinn while I work) is excited to watch him. We chatted today and she can't wait to snuggle him and give him lots of love while I am working. Hopefully we will visit her again next week before I head back to work. Plus, I want to make sure she has everything she needs to take care of the little guy. It is amazing how much stuff one baby needs!

Growing like a weed

Quinn has definitely figured out eating finally. We went to the doctor yesterday to make sure he was gaining weight since we had finally transitioned to nursing exclusively. He gained a full pound in a week. He weighs 7 pounds, 15 ounces now! I can definitely tell the difference. He is really starting to fill out and his newborn clothes are almost too small now.

Great Grandma

Thursday Quinn and I went to visit my grandma. Quinn enjoyed being snuggled by Great Grandma. My kids are lucky to have a great grandma and two great grandpas still alive. Tomorrow I am going to stop by again so my grandpa can see Quinn (he was at a meeting Thursday) and next Tuesday I am taking my dad down to Eugene to visit my grandpa down there. It will be fun to see everyone.

Gaining weight

Quinn is doing great. He gained 10 ounces since last week! Today at my breastfeeding group he got 1.6 ounces, almost the full 2 ounces that he needs (and he was a little sleepy...so when he is alert he will probably do even better) We are going to try switching to breastfeeding exclusively and see how he does. I have an appointment on Monday with the doctor to do a weight check and see how he does without any bottles. I hope he has turned the corner. Today was his due date, so he is finally full-term, which I am sure is helping.

Chubby cheeks!

Quinn is starting to gain weight...I can see it in his chubby cheeks and thick, little thighs. I can't wait until Thursday when I can weigh him again and see how he is doing. He is starting to be awake more in the daytime. Usually he is awake for several hours around 4-6. He is eating better than he was, although he is still eating every 2 (sometimes 3) hours. Definitely makes for a tired mommy, but I am glad he is doing well. We took a nice hour nap today and I am hoping for some good sleep again tonight. We will see:)

Superbowl

Quinn enjoyed his first superbowl. We went to a superbowl party at the church and had a really good time. Quinn slept through most of it but enjoyed being snuggled by lots of friends.
