Yesterday I got settled in at home again. Our little Quinn is still at the hospital and it looks like he will be there for another week or so. At 10am the doctors do their rounds, so I spend the morning at the hospital and stay until his afternoon feeding.
Quinn is doing a little better every day. He is dealing with the nurses handling him a little better now, which is a good sign. His tests came back negative for any infections, so the official diagnosis is under developed lungs. It will take a little time for them to get strong, but we are happy he doesn't have an infection or pneumonia to complicate things. He developed jaundice, so he is getting light treatment for that. The doctor has increased his feedings which should help get his levels down over the next few days in conjunction with the light treatment. Once they get his breathing regulated and he can be weaned off the oxygen they will start to work on feeding with a nipple, but for now they are feeding him with a feeding tube.
Joe and I are going to visit him this evening. We are hoping he will be ready for a visit from Zan and Will in the next few days. They are anxious to see him, but right now he isn't quite up for visitors. Thanks again for the prayers. It is hard to have him away from us. Hopefully his lungs will develop and strengthen quickly and he will get to come home soon.

Definitely a good idea to keep visitors away right now. How agonizing to have to play the waiting game. It sounds he is making progress, though. Congrats, again. :-)
