Good news

I just got back from the hospital. Everything is going well. Baby Quinn is active and healthy and all my bloodwork came back normal. The doctor said he was probably going to change my medicine next week when I come in for my next appointment and he might start doing weekly monitoring of the little one just to make sure he is okay...but we will see. Either way, looks like he is going to get some more time to "cook"

Back to Labor and Delivery

My blood pressure went up again today and has been hovering a little too high so I am headed back to the hospital this afternoon for some monitoring and lab work. The doctor wants to check things out and get the tests back before he decides what to do. When I was in the doctor's office last week he said there were two other medications he could try, but I am sure he wants to check in on the little guy before he makes his final decision. We will see.

Updates to follow soon...

Trial run!

Well, last night I started having some painless contractions. At first I wasn't concerned, but they they started happening about every 10 minutes. So the doctor said I should go in to the hospital and get it checked out. So, I got to have a trial run of going to the hospital.

They monitored me for a few hours and I was having little contractions, but they weren't doing anything so that was good news. They gave me some medicine to stop the contractions, which seemed to do the trick. Little Quinn's heartbeat was good. It was around 145-160 most of the time, but when he started doing his "aerobics" like he does it would jump up to 190-195. The nurses were amazed at how much he moved around. They called him the "happy baby." Too cute:)

Everything seems good again. I just have to make sure I drink my water and take it easy. I go into the doctor again Tuesday, so we will see what he has to say about things. My blood pressure was a little high last night, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. Just need this little guy to cook for a little while longer.

Craziness!

Zan was supposed to have his orchestra concert last night, but during the day there was a bomb threat and some suspicious devices (which turned out to be fake) on the high school campus of his school. They evacuated the high school and put the middle school in lockdown. Then they finally sent the kids from the middle school home, but Zan ended up getting home about 30 minutes late. The school districts communication was very stinky. I got most of my information from the news about what was going on. Crazy!

Then this morning I got up to check if the boys had school due to the weather. I checked at 6 and it said they were going to release them early (before the freezing rain was expected) so I got William up. It had snowed a bit overnight, but the roads were still pretty clear. We got to the school daycare and found out that they had just cancelled school for the day. Talk about deciding at the last minute! Annoying to say the least. So, then I had to take William to a different school for the daycare (they combine the schools when there are no school days.) Definitely made for a long morning. But I am at work now and depending on the weather I might be leaving early. I definitely don't want to get stuck at work!

Little Red Ridinghood

I am beginning to feel like the star of the beloved story, Little Red Ridinghood.

"Oh my, what a big belly you have!"

I have been having fun with this little guy though. Since this one is probably our last, I am enjoying the experience one more time. It is such an amazing thing to feel another person growing inside. He makes me smile when he rolls around and kicks. He especially likes Christmas carols and as soon as I start singing along he gets active. Too cute:) Babies are definitely a miracle and I can't wait to meet our miracle.

Welcome!

Well, for over a year I had a blog...and then it died. Well, it is still there, but I neglected it and now it has been almost 2 years. So...I am hoping this blog has better staying power. I am planning to post about the baby when he arrives and post pictures of the cute, little guy. Hopefully this will be an easy way to stay in touch with everyone out there. Please bookmark this site and look for updates as they come.

The picture is from our childbirth class. They had an "empathy" belly for the dads to wear. It weighed about 30 pounds and all the guys started the pregnant waddle as soon as they put it on. Joe is definitely cute in it!
